It’s important to stress that current lockdown measures don’t look set to be lifted anytime soon, and it’s crucial we stick to government guidelines to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

There may also be a period of time for things to return to normality, but there are still plenty of things to be positive about.

Visiting Family

Abiy Orr: ‘Our younger son is at a residential school 200 miles away, my parents 60 miles away, our elder son in supported accommodation 20 miles away. We're going to have a couple of days in the car rushing round to see them all, share lots of hugs and thank their wonderful, wonderful care staff !’

Michelle Wilson: Looks like I'll be having my baby boy during the lockdown so the first thing I'll do is have friends and family over to meet him 💙’

Lynne Bostock: Give our three grandchildren lots of hugs and kisses. Our youngest two, a set of twins, are seven next week, it will be very emotional not to be celebrating with them. We have been video calling but it's not the same as seeing them in the flesh.’

Charlotte McGinn: I’m going to go to my mum’s and hold on to her and my nana and grandpa for dear life and probably cry a bit. I’ve never gone this long without a hug from one of them! And then we are all going to have a massive dinner and drink loads of cocktails and just enjoy each others company’

Hannah Gordon: ‘Take my two year old to a zoo with her gran who she misses so much and she really wants to visit a zoo ❤😘 stay safe. X’

Julie Ann: ‘Get the chance to cuddle my grandson who was born on Easter Sunday’

Bryony Jade Fucile:‘Sit on a bench at Seaburn and have an ice cream, feeling the wind on my face, listening to the waves and appreciating outdoors. When the ice cream is finished, shoes and socks will come off and I'll be paddling in the sea while I'm waiting for my mum to come up from London to meet our new baby (due in June). The world outside is absolutely beautiful and I miss it’

Sharon Cleminson: ‘Spend time with my mam and family down on the coast for traditional fish and chips and enjoy purely the simple things we have taken for granted with the biggest hugs all round xx’

Denise Molloy: ‘Go to the coast, enjoy the view and have a relaxing lunch with family.’
