Tintfit Window Films, which usually provides material for making windows, has handed out specially made face visors to a number of care homes in the area in order to support key workers during the coronavirus crisis.

The company has also raised £2,000 so that it can order more materials to continue providing PPE wherever needed.

PPE has been delivered to homes including Washington Lodge and St Georges care homes with more deliveries expected.

Managing Director, Lee Tayor, 45, said: “People are screaming out for these masks, it’s incredibly important to look after and support each other in times like this.

Care homes seem to be a bit forgotten about at the moment and they haven’t got the PPE they need, so we want to get as many people involved as possible to support them.”

Despite producing around 50 or 60 pieces of PPE, Mr Taylor is appealing for the help of any companies or organisations with a 3D printer or laser cutter to step in and help increase production to meet the extremely busy demand of PPE.

He added: “We have been inundated with requests for face visors and we are really struggling to meet the demand. You can make approximately 30-40 visors per day with a 3D Printer and around 80-100 with a laser cutter, and it would really help.”
