Twelve neighbours in Sunderland street celebrate lottery windfall

The Washington residents have each received £1,000 after their NE38 0AJ postcode was announced as a daily prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery for December 5.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt sent her well-wishes to the winners, who live in Waxwing, adding: ‘Congratulations to our winners in Washington.

“I’m sure they’ll enjoy spending the cash and treat themselves to something special.”

The residents of Waxwing, which is near the A195 Western Highway, are the latest in a series of Sunderland neighbours to win the postcode lottery in 2020.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have already raised more than £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted by Theirworld, which has received over £7.3 million in funding from lottery players and which is committed to tackling global education problems.
