Today marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day, the day peace emerged after nearly six years of the Second World War.

Tributes are being paid across the UK to remember those who tragically lost their lives between 1939 and 1944 – with many of you sending your own photographs in tribute to loved ones, the heroes of then and the heroes of today.
