They are all £1,000 better off after their NE38 8AQ postcode was announced as a daily prize winner with the People’s Postcode Lottery on Monday, January 11.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt sent her best wishes to the winners in Worm Hill Terrace, Washington, adding: “Brilliant news to hear on a Monday.

"Congratulations to all the winners. I hope you enjoy the winnings.”

Six neighbours in this Wearside street have won £1,000 each as part of the latest People's Postcode Lottery draw.

The windfall follows a series of similar payouts in the Sunderland area during 2020.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and postcode lottery players have already raised more than £600 million for thousands of good causes.

This draw was promoted on behalf of the Postcode Green Trust, which works to promote conservation and protection of wildlife and habitats, and further details about applying for funding is available from www.postcodelottery.co.uk.
