Take That superfan prepares to see Circus tour five times in Sunderland, Manchester and Glasgow

A Take That superfan is gearing up for an unforgettable night in Sunderland as her favourite band take to the stage at the Stadium of Light.

Michelle Fletcher, 41, first became a Take That fan at the age of seven after seeing the band on TV and “thinking they were so cool”.

She said: “Everyone at school was talking about them. I recall going to the paper shop with my mam one day and they were selling packs of Topps Take That cards which you could collect.

"I bought a pack and there was a gorgeous picture of Mark Owen amongst them and that was it, I was hooked. I ended up getting the card album and filling it.

"They were in every magazine on the shelves and that resulted in my bedroom being covered from floor to ceiling in posters of them.”

Michelle has been to most of the band’s tours since the Nobody Else Tour in 1995, and has two Take That tattoos on her foot and arm.

She said: "In 2015, my friend Stacey and I went to one of the concerts together. At this point, we were now in our early thirties, so we spontaneously decided to call a local tattooist to see if they could fit us in for a Take That logo each.

"I got mine on my foot and Stacey got hers on the inside of her arm.”

Michelle, from Billingham, has also been lucky enough to meet band members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald on a number of occasions, and is looking forward to seeing the band perform five times as part of their Circus Tour in Sunderland, Glasgow and Manchester.

She said: "Being a Take That fan is just amazing.

"Aside from the boys being easy on the eye, they produce amazing music that becomes the soundtrack of your life. Every song holds a memory and takes you back to such good times.

"The fandom are also very lovely and I’ve made lots of friends from all different parts of the world through my love for Take That.

"I’ll be meeting my friend from Poland in Manchester this year, which is nice. Thatters really are one big family.”
