Sunderland nursery in top 20 list as rated by parents
A day nursery in Sunderland is celebrating after being recognised as one of the top 20 nurseries in the North East.
Chilton Meadows Day Nursery, in Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland, has been recognised as one of the top 20 nurseries in the North East out of 481 early years centres across the region.
The award, presented by the UK’s leading nursery search and comparison site daynurseries.co.uk, is based entirely on feedback from families, parents and carers.
Nurseries were assessed across a wide range of areas, including overall standard, facilities and outdoor space, learning and development, resources and equipment, care and activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness, safeguarding and value for money.
David Martyn, nursery manager of Chilton Meadows Day Nursery, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award and incredibly grateful to our wonderful parents and carers for their kind reviews and continued support.
"Knowing that our families value the care, nurturing environment and early years education we provide means the world to our whole team, and is even more appreciated and heartfelt as a family-run and family-owned nursery.
“This recognition truly reflects the passion and dedication of our team and the special community we have at Chilton Meadows Day Nursery.
"It’s an especially exciting time for us as we are growing our nursery.”
Across the UK, there are more than 15,000 nurseries employing over 400,000 people, supporting around one million children aged three months to five years.
Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager at daynurseries.co.uk, said: “We would like to congratulate Chilton Meadows Day Nursery in Sunderland on being rated by parents as one of the top nurseries in North East England.
"It is a fantastic achievement to be valued so highly by the families and carers of children attending the setting.
“This award represents valuable recognition from parents and carers that the nursery provides an excellent standard of care in a nurturing environment.
