Familiar faces from the two franchises will be at Durham Comic-Con, to be held in a big top tent at the arena on Sunday, July 4.

Appearing alongside Harry potter star Josh ‘Gregory Goyle’ Herdman will be Samantha Alleyne, best known for being the first female Stormtrooper in Star Wars as well as an Amazon in Wonder Woman.

She will be joined by another name from the Star Wars Universe. Jasper Jacob played Captain Yorr in Episode VI: The Return Of The Jedi and will be making a rare convention appearance.

Unfortunately Game of Thrones star Clive Russell has had to pull out due to filming commitments.

But the stars will be far from the only reason to attend.

Visitors will be able to have their photos taken on a specially constructed stage recreating a classic scene from Jaws – being eaten alive by the star – or visit the Gremlins cinema set.

Gamers will be well catered for, with NERG providing a blast from the past and the opportunity to your hand at some retro video gaming. Game On will also be providing a selection of board and card games, including a fantastic Warhammer selection, for those who prefer to avoid the small screen.

Visitors are being urged to come dressed as a TV, movie, game or anime character and enter the cosplay competition.

As well as the guests, there will be comic creators, authors and loads of traders with toys, comics, collectables, art, jewellery, gaming and much more on hand.
