Sunderland’s coast was the perfect place to enjoy a day out as people headed for the beaches to take in the sun and enjoy the warm weather today, Wednesday, June 24 – the hottest day of the year so far.
Thermometers hit well over 20C today, with the good weather set to continue into Thursday, when it could again hit 27C in some parts of the region.
