Search for family of Nigerian woman found dead in her Sunderland home

An appeal has been issued to try and trace the family of a woman who was found dead in her Sunderland home.

Toks Fajemirokun, who was from Nigeria, was found at her home in Victory Street, off St Luke’s Road in Pallion, on Wednesday, June 9.

Sunderland Coroner’s Office is searching for any family members who live locally, while inquiries are also being carried out beyond Wearside in the hope of tracing one or more of her relatives following her death.

Little is known about the 57-year-old but is is believed she may have attended a church in the city, which could be key in helping to find out more about her.

Anyone who can help with inquiries is asked to contact coroner’s officer Reginald Hooper, who is known as Taffy, and is based at Sunderland Civic Centre.
