This circular walk, which is 1.4 miles or 2.2km long, starts and finishes at Hylton Castle and it is estimated to take approximately half-an-hour to complete.
The heritage trail, which has been produced by Sunderland City Council, takes you through the history of the impressive Hylton Castle, which has stood in its current state since the late 14th to early 15th century.
The walk takes you around Hylton Dene by the fishing pond and next to what remains of St Catherine’s Chapel.
