Washington Juniors will be holding a parents vs coaches fundraising match for Jenna Lee Carrington, 14, that will be refereed by Premier League official Martin Atkinson.

The club is hoping to raise funds for Jenna to help her make lasting memories with family and friends after a shock brain tumour diagnosis in December last year.

The Oxclose School pupil was rushed to hospital at the end of last year when she suffered a fit in school after having migraines and feeling unwell.

After a scan Jenna was told the devastating news she has an inoperable brain tumour that is fast-growing and cancerous.

Organiser of the event Martin Maddison said: “I think it’s really important everyone comes together in times like this as people like ourselves can make a huge difference in such difficult circumstances for both Jenna and her family.”

As well as the match, the fundraiser will also feature a raffle, speed cage and bouncy castle with all money raised going to Jenna and her family.

Martin added: “Every little helps and if we can put a smile on Jenna’s face and help her family make some unforgettable memories then that would be fantastic.”

The fundraiser will be taking place at Washington Football Hub on Sunday, March 1, kicking off at 2pm. To make a donation visit the clubs go fund me page.
