Paramedics treat patient at the scene of two-car crash outside Sunderland retail park

A patient was treated at the scene by paramedics after a two-car collision near to a Wearside shopping centre.

Northumbria Police, the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service were called to Timber Beach Road, near North Hylton Retail Park, earlier today, Sunday, March 15.

Police confirmed the incident involved a collision between two cars near to the junction of Colima Avenue and said those involved sustained only minor injuries.

A spokesperson for NEAS added: “We were called at 8.24am to reports of a road traffic collision on Timber Beach Road, Sunderland.

“We dispatched a rapid response paramedic and treated one patient on scene."

The fire service confirmed it sent crews from its stations in Marley Park and Sunderland Central, responding to the call at 8.36am, with the teams leaving the incident as it came to a close just before 9.10am.
