Nine photos from Sunderland and Seaham as people enjoy taste of normality during first weekend of outdoor reopenings
Sunny weather drew families and groups of friends to the coast on April 17 as people made the most of the relaxed coronavirus restrictions.
Cafes, pubs and restaurants have been able to reopen their beer gardens and outdoor areas since Monday, April 12, giving customers a taste of normality following months of lockdown.
Businesses along Seaburn and Roker seafront were busy as well as those in Seaham, as people met up with loved ones in groups of up to six people or two households.
