Motorcyclist taken to hospital with serious leg injury following Sunderland crash - police appeal for witnesses

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses the two-vehicle collision – which happened on Ferryboat Lane at the junction of Culercoats Road, Hylton Castle – to come forward.
At about 6.45pm on Thursday, October 29, emergency services were first called to a report of a collision between a black Ford Focus and a motorcycle.

Hide AdNorthumbria Police has confirmed that the male motorcycle rider was taken to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries to his leg.
No one else is believed to have been injured.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing and two weeks on from the incident Northumbria Police has issued an appeal for anyone who saw what happened to come forward and speak to officers.
PC Greg Huntley, of Northumbria Police’s Operations Department, said: “This was a serious collision that resulted in one man being taken to hospital.
“We are following a number of lines of enquiry as we look to establish what happened and the events that immediately preceded the collision.
