Meet the newest Northumbria Police puppy recruits preparing for a career with the force


Northumbria Police have introduced a total of 12 fluffy recruits that have now embarked on the first step of their careers with the force.
The mix of Beligian Malinois and Dutch Herder pups, who will be known as C-Litter, have joined their handlers and will soon start their initial familiarisation training.

Hide AdThe newest recruits, which will all be given a name beginning with the letter C, will start their general purpose police dog course and upon successful completion of the course, the pups will be fully fledged general purpose Police Dogs.
Northumbria Police say the pups will learn new skills which includes searching for missing persons, tracking suspects from crime scenes and recovering recently-discarded evidence.
And the force has promised followers regular pup-dates on its social media channels (@northumbriapol) as the animals get to grips with different aspects of life as trainee police dogs.
