Media Savvy – which works to promote education, employability skills in the city – are doing a 48-hour ‘Tired Legs 4 Clothes on Pegs’ challenge that will see them cover four miles every four hours on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

The event aims to raise cash for the community project Take One, Leave One – which provides clothes for needy and homeless people in the area.

Sunderland’s Olympic marathon runner Aly Dixon turn out to support the group at Take One Leave One’s new site.

She said: “It’s amazing what these guys are going to take on but it’s all for a great cause and I’m really pleased they asked me to help get them motivated

before event.

“Everyone should try and support them as best they can and, even by just giving them a wave.”

Having successfully supported St Benedict’s Hospice over the last two years – including being a key part of the team that raised over £90,000 during a trek to The Great Wall of China in 2019 - Media Savvy wanted to take on another challenge to support local organisations.

Dan Makaveli, director of Media Savvy CIC said “Having seen the impact that Iain Lane has manage to have with Take One, Leave One in such a short space of time, we knew that we wanted to get involved and help out.

"Knowing the challenges many people across our city face on a day to day basis, it was

imperative that we tried to support it.”

"All the money raised will go towards buying clothing that Iain and his team can distribute to whom they see fit”

Mr Lane said, “To hear that Media Savvy wanted to get involved with us and try and raise some money to buy even more clothing for this who need it most, we were just blown away.
