"I really didn’t expect it to do this well as there are so many children’s books that I never thought it would make it to number one.”

Koko’s Adventure is about an elephant who tries to find his family after losing them on their way to a waterhole.

Mr Murphy said: “The book is fun and humorous and it teaches the virtues of perseverance and friendship.”

The best selling book is available on Amazon in paperback or as an E-book and soon to be released as an audio book.
