Leigh-Anne Pinnock used the moment to highlight how difficult it can be for women within the music industry.

She added: “It’s not easy being a female in the UK pop industry.

“We have seen white male dominance, misogyny, sexism and lack of diversity.

“We are proud of how we have stuck together, stood our ground and surrounded ourselves with strong women and are now using our voices more than ever.”

The pop singer, who shared a photo of her baby bump on Instagram, wrote: “So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate. Me + Him = You. We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!”

The 27-year-old is the second member of the girl group to announce a pregnancy this month.

Last week Leigh-Anne Pinnock revealed she is expecting a baby with footballer fiance Andre Gray.
