Charities have been hard-hit by the restrictions imposed as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, which led to the cancellation of countless fundraising events. But across Wearside and beyond, families have been doing their bit to support good causes close to their hearts at times of uncertainty and difficulty. In a call-out on the Sunderland Echo Facebook page, we asked you to share the stories and photographs of the fundraisers you and your loved ones have done during the pandemic. Here is a selection of your inspiring acts of kindness and generosity. Thank you to everyone who shared a story with us – submissions have been edited for length.
