Connor Brown died in February following a night out in the city centre, prompting hundreds of tributes from family, friends, colleagues and strangers affected by the devastating loss of the 18-year-old.

As the two men accused of Connor's murder – Leighton Barrass, 20, of Hartside Square, Hylton Lane Estate, and Ally Gordon, also 20, of Polmuir Road, Plains Farm – stand trial, the teenager’s family made a heartfelt gesture in support of some of the city’s most vulnerable and needy, with just weeks to go until Christmas.

They will be given out to teenagers and young adults across the community in the run-up to December 25, each bearing a sticker in the teenager’s honour.

Karen Wood, who is manager of both organisations, paid tribute to Connor's family for the kindness they are showing to others in the wake of tragedy.

Speaking to the Echo, she said: “For that family to think of others at such a hard time is the true spirit of Christmas.

The Parker Trust is a resource for young people and helps create opportunities for them to move forward.

In partnership, the two are appealing for donations to dish out to the young people who may otherwise go without.
