Firefighters attend road traffic collision where petrol could be smelt at the scene
Emergency services called to road traffic collision between a bus and car on Chester Road on Tuesday evening.
A spokesperson for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 5.17pm to a junction on Chester Road, where there was the smell of petrol following a road traffic collision.
“We dispatched three appliances to the scene of a low speed impact between a bus and car.”
Witnesses at the scene say that traffic is being diverted down Leamington Street.
