Defibrillator installed on Roker sea front in memory of Sunderland care home staff
A brand new defibrillator has been installed on Roker sea front in memory of two care home employees that sadly died.
Falstone Court and Falstone Manor Care Home, in Roker, Sunderland, raised £4,725 for a defibrillator to be installed on Whitburn Road, also in Roker, in memory of former employees Hannah Simpson and Joanne Moore.
Hannah, who had worked at the care home for two years, suddenly died at work after suffering from an embolism that travelled to her heart.
Joanne, who had worked at the home for more than 20 years, suffered an embolism in her brain.

The new defibrillator was installed on Friday, May 29, by North East defibrillator charity Missed A Beat, and is available to the general public.
Julie Merritt, area director, said: “I’m so happy that we’ve finally managed to get the defibrillator installed at the home next door to the care home.
"It’s been a long road to get someone that will have it.
"It’s accessible for everybody, it’s right on the coast road and it’s in loving memory of our colleagues that we sadly lost.”
The defibrillator was installed on the side of the home of local resident Mike Stubbs.
Mike said: “They approached me and asked if I’d mind having a defibrillator installed at the front of my house. I said I certainly wouldn’t mind, it’s there for a good cause.”
A celebration of life was also held for Hannah and Joanne on Friday to mark what would have been their 41st and 44th birthdays.
