Death of a man whose body was found in a Seaham car park has been ruled as suicide
Sunderland’s senior coroner Derek Winter has ruled the death of a man who was found at a Seaham car park as suicide.
Senior coroner Derek Winter held a final inquest hearing at Sunderland Coroner's Court, based at Sunderland Civic Centre, on Wednesday, March 24, into the death of 58-year-old Paul Lumley, of Morello Crescent in Sunderland.
Police opened an investigation at the time but have since confirmed there was no third party involvement in Mr Lumley’s death.
When concluding, Mr Winter said: “Sadly, the intentional actions of Mr Lumley are the contributing factors to his death.
"Therefore, my verdict of this inquest is one of suicide.”
The coroner also offered his condolences to Mr Lumley’s family who were in court.
