'Close' but it's not right for Arlington Street in Sunderland as 'administrative error' led to road sign mistake

A Pallion street sign has been replaced after it caused a little confusion in the area.

The sign at the east end of Arlington Street has decayed over the years and is difficult to read.

So a new sign was put up. Unfortunately it said “Arlington Close”, causing a few problems for delivery drivers.

The correct sign is now in place.

A Sunderland City Council spokesperson said: “This was an administrative error and we’re grateful that it has been brought to our attention so it can be resolved.”
