Body found in search for missing Murton man

A body has been found in the search for missing Murton man David Hardy, police have confirmed.

The 37-year-old was last seen on Thursday evening (February 18) and a public appeal to locate him was launched as officers searched for the 37-year-old.

Sadly, police have now confirmed David’s body was found in the Dalton Park area on Friday morning (February 19).

Officers say his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for the force said: “We are sorry to report that a body has been found in the search for David Hardy.

“The body of a man was found in the Dalton Park area early this morning, which has since been confirmed as that of the 37-year-old.

“David’s family have been informed.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Tributes to David have since flooded in on social media.
