Appeal to trace sons of Sunderland pensioner who died alone continues

The search for family members of a man who died in his Sunderland home is still ongoing, more than two months after his death.

Robert Mulvaney died at in his accommodation in Saville Place, above the Burton House pub, on Thursday, July 2.

Sunderland coroner’s office is trying to trace his relatives and it is believed the 72-year-old, born in Sunderland on July 5, 1947, may have had a son or possibly two sons.

Despite a number of calls following an initial appeal through the Echo, coroner’s officer Neville Dixon is yet to be able to find a relative who can help with his inquiries.

Mr Dixon, who is based at Sunderland Civic Centre, has asked anyone with any details which could help him find Mr Mulvaney’s relations to get in touch.
