Pennywell - Down Your Way

More than 60 service users, family and friends from Sycamore Care Home and Croft Care Home attended a Remembrance service with readings by staff and Denise Haley, a volunteer fromPennywell Neighbourhood Centre. A video, created by activity co-ordinator at Sycamore Care Centre Peter Lovegrove, showed photos of past and present wars. Rebecca Smith, whose grandma lives at the Sycamore centre, sang Abide with me, which everyone joined in. Wreaths were then laid by Alf Kew, from the Sycamore centre, and Robson McKenzie, from Croft Care Home. Alf is an ex-service man and Robson lost his father during the war.
