Our Face Of 2018 judges whittled down the dozens of entries to the final seven in their quest to find one boy and one girl to win the title.

Earlier this year, we teamed up with our panel of experts, Scott Spock Photography, celebrity hairdresser Neville Ramsay, make up artist Amanda Bell

and Terry Costello from Savalas Models to launch a modelling competition to find a boy and girl with a natural look. The competition was open to anyone, of any age and size, as long as their photo submissions were free of filters.

Neville, who’s styled hair for the likes of Sting and model Jodie Kidd, said the judges were impressed with the calibre of entries.

“It’s been great chatting to the final seven and meeting them in person because it gives us a chance to see their personality and confidence, rather than just looking at a picture,” he said. “If anything though it’s made the decision even harder, because we’ve been so impressed with them all.”

Korinne from Scott Spock Photography said: “What’s been great to see, particularly with the girls, is how natural they all are and they’ve all conducted themselves really well.”

Next, the judges will decide which boy and which girl should be named Face of 2018 and we’ll be revealing their decision in the coming days.

The winners will receive a prize worth £1,500 which includes a photoshoot with Scott Spock Photography, which will appear in the Sunderland Echo, with styling for the shoot from Neville and Amanda; six months of hair styling complete with Milkshake hair products; a make up session with Amanda at her studio in Norton and a consultation, with the potential for a contract, at Savalas Models.

The Bridges will also be providing the winners with a gift card worth £100 each.

Samantha Czwordon-Auld, marketing manager for the shopping centre, said: “I’ve seen excellent faces so far in the competition – and amazing personalities to match, which for me, is what it’s about too – as their personalities and uniqueness is also what needs to shine through in the photography.”
