We asked our readers which businesses across Wearside they were most excited about visiting when lockdown restrictions ease in line with the Government’s roadmap.

Echo readers have been sharing the businesses they can't wait to return to when restrictions lift on Monday, April 12.

Non-essential shops, alongside personal care premises, such as hairdressers and nail salons, and outdoor hospitality venues will be allowed to reopen from Monday, April 12.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson told a Downing Street press conference on Easter Monday (April 5) that the Government was pushing ahead with the next phase of its plan to ease the national restrictions imposed in January.

Many businesses across the country have been closed under lockdown restrictions with some offering take-away services since December.

Barbara Jane Bennison said she couldn’t wait for a haircut at the salon which opens on Monday.
