The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) was called to Sunderland’s Holmeside street late on Saturday night (June 12) after reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a bus.

A paramedic ambulance was dispatched and the patient was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for NEAS said: “We were called at 11.10 pm to reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.

"We dispatched one paramedic ambulance and we took one patient to Sunderland A&E.”
