One lane of A690 closed by two-car smash

A collision has led police to close off one lane of the A690 taking traffic towards Sunderland.

The incident has happened after the turnoff to Dairy Lane and before the sliproad which brings vehicles on to Houghton Cut.

Police and ambulance are on the scene.
