After a goalless first half, in which Shildon’s Anthony Peacock hit the bar, RCA’s Adam McGuinness received his marching orders for a second yellow card in the 55th minute.

Four minutes later, Cameron Fenton scored the winner to steer Shildon home to their sixth win out of six away from home.

RCA are back in action tomorrow night, at home to leaders Morpeth Town, while neighbours Ryhope CW visit Consett.

Morpeth were held to a 2-2 draw away to Guisborough Town, who rescued a point deep in stoppage time.

Lee Bytheway gave Guisborough the lead early in the second half, heading home a corner, but Liam Henderson levelled, getting a flick on Sean Taylor’s overhead kick.

Wayne Phillips soon put Morpeth 2-1 up with a fierce 12-yard strike, but Lewis Maloney’s free-kick somehow found its way through to level it up at the end.

Esh Winning moved up to ninth place in Division Two, thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win at Alnwick Town.

Callum Boakes (26 minutes), Kieran Day (32) and Reece Brown (85) did the damage as Esh picked up their fifth win of the campaign, only two short of their tally for the entire 2016-17 campaign.

James Connor had an effort cleared off the line for Easington when it was still 1-0, while home keeper Kyle Donaldson made some good saves to deny Ryton a bigger victory.

Brandon United pushed themselves away from the relegation area, with a fine 3-1 home win over West Allotment Celtic.
