Easington are unbeaten in nine and set to offer a tough test to the second-bottom hosts. Wake said: “We are looking for a more disciplined performance, after the poor second half performance at Heaton last week, when we were soundly beaten.

“We were solid in the first half against a strong wind, but, with the wind, we were ill-disciplined as the team shape went out of the window, and got ultimately punished.

“We are also hoping to add a couple of new faces to the squad to freshen things up, and provide additional competition for places.”

Alex White is at a wedding and Aaron Thompson is away on County duty, but Wake hopes to welcome back Lee Mole, Dan McGuire, Kieran Megran and Craig Marron.

Colliery are without David Paul, who has left the club to join Crook Town, but Ian Redman has agreed to return to the club and should sign in time for the game.

Jordan Hailes is back from a long-term injury and could well be involved, while Jake Metcalf is expected to return, having missed last week’s draw with Willington.

Durham City travel to in-form Bedlington Terriers, who have lost just once in their last six. City have won their last two matches and are level on points with their 12th-placed hosts.

Second-placed Hebburn Town manager Scott Oliver was in a reflective mood ahead of the home derby against Jarrow.

He said: “Channon North and Samuel Bramley are both out with injuries, and Paul Chow is doubtful through sickness.

“We have a tough derby game against Jarrow, who are doing very well in their first season in the league. This is a game we desperately want to win, to apply pressure on the leaders and keep ourselves up in contention.”

Lee added: “We were a bit disappointed with a draw last Saturday at Easington and I’m hopeful that we’ll play better this weekend and take all three points.”

Crook Town are away to Northallerton, with striker David Paul boosting their options after leaving Easington.
