These are the faces of the criminals jailed in the Wearside and Durham areas last month.

Here are some of the criminals jailed in December from across Sunderland and Durham.

This is not a list of all offenders jailed, but of those who have committed offences where our police forces have deemed it worthy to release their custody photographs to the public.

Jailed for seven years for six offences of dissemination of a terrorist publication and one of possession of a document containing terrorist information.
Jailed for 10 years for rape.

Jailed for nine years for rape.
Jailed for 10 years for rape. The offence was carried out in his Cash Exchange shop in Houghton.
Jailed for 32 and a half years for raping three women, sexually assaulting a fourth, supplying MDMA to the victims and an offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act. He also admitted drug supply charges, perverting justice and perjury.
Jailed for 11 months for stalking and three breaches of a restraining order.
Jailed for 32 months for a section 20 assault against a police officer.
Jailed for 12 years for rape.
Jailed for 10 years for attempted murder.
