Motorcyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a crash on Ferryboat Lane

The incident happened shortly before 7pm on Thursday, October 29 when a moped and a car collided on Ferryboat Lane, near the junction with Cullercoats Road.
A 22-year-old man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle by the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) with leg injuries however it is understood that he is not in a life threatening condition.

Hide AdThe driver of the car, aged 33, is believed to have not sustained any injuries in the collision.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 6.55pm yesterday (Thursday) we received a report of a two vehicle collision between a car and a moped on Ferryboat Lane, near the junction with Cullercoats Road in Sunderland.
“Officers and emergency services attended and the rider of the moped, a 22-year-old male was taken to hospital with serious injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Hide AdA spokesperson for NEAS added: “We were called at 6.40pm on October 29 to a patient injured on Ferryboat Lane in Sunderland.
"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance and transported a 22-year-old male with leg injuries to the RVI.”
Norhthumbria Police have said that inquiries are ongoing and any members of the public with information relating to the incident are asked to contact them on 101 quoting log 878 291020.
