Middlesbrough eye goalkeeper swoop for ex-Sunderland target

Middlesbrough have been linked with a move for Leicester City goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic.

The Hull Daily Mail reports that Boro - along with Cardiff, West Brom and Derby - are keen on the Swiss stopper.

Jakupovic only joined the Foxes last summer from Hull City, penning a three-year deal, but has made just two appearances this season which both came in the FA Cup.

He was heavily linked with a move to Sunderland in the January transfer window but a deal for the 33-year-old never materialised despite talks on deadline day, with the Black Cats moving for Lee Camp instead.

A popular figure during his time at Hull, Jakupovic is reportedly unhappy at the King Power Stadium having failed to even make the bench for the majority of this season.

And that could open the door for Tony Pulis' side to make their move - although a swift resolution is unlikely as Boro prepare for the play-offs.
