Welsh named Â£8million summer signing Lens in the starting line-up, the Dutch winger has been missing from first team action for a month after a hernia operation but recently played 45 minutes in a behind-closed doors friendly win over Livingston.

Veteran Brown and Jones were also named in the starting line-up against a young Boro side, with Rhys Williams the only first team player.
