Metro still causing problems today
Rush hour chaos for Metro users is continuing this morning due to a line closure.
Services between Pelaw and South Shields have been off since early yesterday evening due to an overhead line fault and Metro has confirmed they are still dealing with the problem this morning.
A replacement bus service, the 900, is running between South Shields and Heworth and there is also still ticket acceptance on the 27.
Commuters are being warned that early morning peak trains have been cancelled, so there may be increased passenger loadings during rush hour.
Trains are running to South Hylton and back.
