Man talked down from Sunderland bridge
Emergency services were called to Wearmouth Bridge this afternoon after a man crossed onto the wrong side of the railings.
The coastguard, police and fire service attended the incident at around 3pm.
Police officers spoke to the man who agreed to climb back on to the pavement.
He is now in the care of police.
