This Friday’s night is filled with activity. People can enjoy six artists singing gospel music as well as a magician.

The event has been organised by the East Durham Christian Unity group which serves churches in the Seaham and Murton areas.

The gospel night will be held from 6.30pm at Dalton-le-Dale Parish Hall. Entry is free.

Group chairman Jimmy Collings added: “We will be taking a collection to cover the cost of the night and the hall. People can just turn up and they are in for a good night.

“There are six artists and they are coming from places like Newcastle, Darlington, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough. We have got a good selection of music.”

The event will also be used as an opportunity for Jimmy to explain more about a crusade event which will also be held by East Durham Christian Unity on June 27 -28.

That’s when minister John Gaughan - who was formerly a member of Herman’s Hermits - will be at the Glebe Centre, Murton.

John worked with many famous names in the music industry before turning to evangelism.

He travels the world with his combination of his story and gospel music and how it has transformed lives.
