As I drove through Southwick, I looked at the ruins of the bingo hall and I began reminiscing about the halcyon days of what a popular place it was full of women players, who were happy they had won and sad that they had lost.

It then struck me that the Empire Cinema should show more horror films like the ones Hammer made in the 1970s.

I’ve seen them all Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy and The Werewolf.

Last week's Letter of the week: Sunderland should be proud to see a Mackem on TV's University ChallengeI loved them all and the ABC used to show a horror night that commenced at 11pm on a Friday and finished at 7am Saturday.

These were great for horror fans.
