Lethal Lumley extend their lead at the top of the league

In Division Two of the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League, Lumley A have opened up a three-point lead over Mill View A at the top after an excellent 4-1 win at home to Murton Officials.

Paul Stoves potted well to win the first frame before Manna Singh continued his good form to level the match.

Ernie Bonsall won the third frame before Joe Nord won the fourth frame.

Paul Stoves/Joe Nord continued their good form winning the pairs 72-21.

John Spruce started well for Mill View B, who were at home to Mill View A, resisting an excellent comeback from Adam Burnell.

Lee Dixon increased the lead and Adrian Daniel won the third before John Burnell pulled one back for the A team.

In the pairs, Kevin Alderson/Dan Alderson beat John Spruce/Adrian Daniel 71-34 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

Pennywell Comrades won 3-2 when they travelled to Cheemas.

Murton Colliery had an excellent 3-2 win over Seaham Conservatives and.

The Railway had an excellent 4-1 win away at The Victory, thanks to Tony Grimes, Joe Beston and Vince Flynn.

Darren Dowell pulled one back for the Victory before Joe Beston/Ken Rackstraw beat John Butler/Ray James in the pairs.

In Division One, South Hylton and Washington Snooker A played their re-arranged match with Washington needing a win to close the gap.

A 40-break saw Graham Rutland get Hylton off to a perfect start before Stephen Thompson levelled.

Ian Stewart dominated the third frame before Gavin Dixon again levelled.

In the pairs, a 24-break by Adam Smith, when paired with Ian Stewart, helped win the frame 73-38 for a Hylton 3-2 win.

In South Hylton’s other game, they stormed to a 5-0 victory over in-form Glendale.

Whitburn edged to a 3-2 victory over Washington Snooker A. Washington Snooker B also fought off a brave fight from Lumley B to secure a 3-2 victory.

The match between Biddick B and Biddick A was close, alternating into a 2-2 situation before Biddick A took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.

Green Baize took the first two frames at home to Steels, thanks to Dean Wilson and Gary Simpson.

Ray Charlton Junior pulled one back for Steels before Tommy Ayre levelled the match.
