Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League leaders Washington Snooker roared back to winning ways with an excellent 4-1 win over South Hylton.

After last week’s defeat to Seaham Conservatives B, Washington had Stephen Thompson winning the first frame.

Gavin Dixon quickly increased the lead, before Norman Leslie produced a good comeback to pinch the third frame against Ian Stewart.

Gary Bell won the fourth frame before a 44-break by Adam Smith, when paired with Graham Rutland, helped Hylton win the pairs a consolation point.

Biddick B travelled to Whitburn and started well, with Michael Simpson winning the first frame against Graeme Ablett.

A 42-break helped Joe Cromby level the match before John Temple moved Biddick back into the lead.

John Smith levelled the match once again when beating Paul Cobb.

Biddick’s Simpson/Peter Mills won a high scoring pairs against Mark Fox/Joe Cromby for the 3-2 win.

Biddick A welcomed The Hetton Centre and got off to a good start with Steven Tate winning a close first frame against Paul Stoves.

Terry Froud clinched a close second frame against Steven Rushworth.

Rod Turnbull won the third frame against Paul Nord, before Joe Nord pulled one back for Hetton, beating David Adamson.

In the pairs, a 20-break by Adamson, when paired with Froud, helped win the frame to see off Stoves/Nord for a 4-1 win.

The match between The Victory and Seaham Conservatives B was expected to be close and the singles alternated into a 2-2 situation before Seaham took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.

Robin Midson won the first frame against Ray James before John Butler levelled.

Darren Dowell moved The Victory into the lead before a 21-break helped Colin Dobson win the fourth frame.

In the pairs, Justin Ebdy/Bobby Carne beat Gerry Porter/John Butler 52-42 for the win.

Glendale started strongly at home to Mill View, with Thomas Gwyn winning a close first frame against Norman Brown.

John Danby clinched the close second frame against Lee Dixon.

Marc Smithson continued his excellent form to beat John Spruce, before Paul Atkinson was in excellent form, winning the fourth frame.

Spruce/Dixon earned Mill View a consolation point when they defeated Frank McParlin/Atkinson 61-22 to make the final score 4-1 to Glendale.

An excellent 52-break saw Gary Stockton get Seaham Conservatives A off to a good start at home to Lumley.

Andrew Drinkwater levelled the match after defeating Michael Monaghan, before Gordon Elliott moved Seaham back into the lead.

A shortage of players by Lumley handed Seaham the fourth frame, before Brian Meuse/Jimmy Jackson won the pairs, beating Ian Hughes/Robert Cougle 68-28 and reducing the defeat to 3-2.

Ryan Lowes got Murton Colliery off to a brilliant start away at Pennywell Comrades.

Boyd Banks increased Murton’s lead before Anthony Longstaff started a comeback for Pennywell.

Ian McDermott levelled the match before Stuart Taylor/Andrew Doran completed an excellent comeback, beating Jackson Mason/Eddie Williamson 62-38 for the 3-2 win.
