Kite-flying festival is a soaraway success at Souter Lighthouse
The skies were filled with a rainbow of colours as seasoned kite fliers and newcomers alike turned out for a fun-packed weekend.
From snakes and dragons to ladybirds and Angry Birds, kite of all shapes, sizes, colours and designs got off the ground at the Whitburn visitor attraction both today and on Saturday.

Hide AdThe event was organised by the North East Kite Fliers, who were delighted the event proved a big hit.
Duncan Brown, a member of North East Kite Fliers, said: “The weekend has gone really well.
“We have had a perfect day for kite flying and have put on a programme of displays.”
