Investigation underway after early-hours fire wrecks van

A van was damaged in a blaze which started in the early hours of Wednesday, March 18.

Durham Constabulary and Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service were called to Shotton Colliery on Wednesday following reports of a fire.

The fire service said it sent a crew from Peterlee to blaze, near to Brandling Court, a new estate off Burns Terrace, at 3.08am.

The team remained on scene until 3.53am.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
