Inconvenient truth

In response to my original letter on Labour's economic record (November 7) W Quinn has a second stab.

He attacks as tittle tattle the reference to Labour’s outgoing Chief Secretary to the Treasury Liam Byrne leaving a note in 2010 saying: ‘Dear chief secretary, I’m afraid to tell you there’s no money left.’

W Quinn has also dismissed this as a joke in the past. However, he is undermined by the note now being part of the records of the House.

Liam Byrne is also on record as saying it was the greatest mistake of his life.

This must be an inconvenient truth to W Quinn.
