In tribute to funny man Alan Simpson

Best known for his comedy writing partnership with Ray Galton from penning hilarious scripts for Tony Hancock in the halcyon days of the fifties to coming up with the humorous goings on between two rag-and-bone men (Steptoe and Son 1962-1974).

It’s believed Galton and Simpson also wrote for Frankie Howerd, Peter Sellers and Ronnie Corbett.

However my favourite line by Alan comes from an episode of Hancock’s Half Hour: “He’s walked off with my wine gums! oh dear, oh dear – if you can’t trust a blood donor who can you trust?”
