But they have now found that their performances have been annulled as the course was found to be short.

They were Nathan Reed who clocked 31.52, taking four seconds off his previous best. There were also PBs for Andy Powell 32.23, Ian Dixon second over-40 in 33.19, Matt Devlin knocked nearly three minutes off his fastest time with 33.31, Michael Thompson was sixth over-45 in a best for this age group of 33.48, Michael Edwards recorded his quickest of 34.43, Ian Ritchie clocked 34.59 and Jimmy Johnson 38.57

The course used for the Trafford 10k since 2009 was short by just over 100m, the Association of UK course measurers (AUKCM) has confirmed.

“We are very disappointed to be told that the course had been measured short and feel that thousands of runners have been let down by the AUKCM,” Trafford 10k organiser Dave Norman said.

Now more than 30 road race courses around the North West are being investigated following concerns they are short. Courses are measured using a bicycle fitted with a counter to calculate the distance.
