Houghton - Down Your Way

Houghton Brass Band held its annual Feast concert in St Michael and All Angels' Parish Church with an excellent and varied programme, featuring cornet soloist Jim Hayes. Jim, who is originally from Newbottle, is nationally known for his performances with major British brass bands. The band, which won the national third section last year and was promoted, came second this year in its new section. This again means the band qualifies for the national finals in Cheltenham. Band members are wished every success.
